Our client faced complex staffing challenges in the midst of the Covid-19 epidemic. They are a rehabilitation facility with just over 100 beds. When we partnered with them, they had been working with multiple other agencies who supplied PRN workers. When our partnership begun, there was an immediate need of 11 CNAs, 7 LPNs and 2 RNs across every shift.
The facility tried solving their staffing challenges on a day-to-day basis. However, many of the PRN workers they were utilising from other agencies were unreliable and led to inconsistent levels of staffing. Furthermore, many permanent staff members complained of being overworked and unappreciated.
We had several in-depth calls with multiple stakeholders at the facility. This allowed us to really digest and understand the root of their staffing crisis. Which was that whenever they tried to recruit internally, their new staff members had negative first impressions and experiences due to how short staffed they were. Our solution was to provide immediate support filling the most urgent needs. After our caregivers finished their 8 week assignments, our client had the option to extend or take advantage of our temp-to-perm conversion scheme.
Within 48 hours, we had filled 86% of their open needs and within three days, each open position they initially had when we partnered had been filled by AMX caregivers. They reduced their dependency on PRN workers and enjoyed the benefit of having increased consistent levels of staff. Today, they effectively manage their workforce and occasionally reach out to us to fill holes in their schedule.
